It is a great privilege to be the Chairperson of the Institute of Cape Wine Masters for the next three years. We are a bunch of dedicated and passionate people who put in the hard yards writing about and tasting wine, and plan to add increasing value to the wider industry whilst staying relevant!
At our annual general meeting held in May we identified the following seven areas of focus:
- Brand health
- Revenue growth
- Globalization
- Structural optimization
- Transformation
- Academic excellence
- Fun!
Whilst staying true to academic excellence, I am aiming to commercialize the Institute’s efforts over the next few years and ensure that it becomes the pinnacle of wine education in South Africa. We are working on improving our corporate brand image and will reach out to trade and industry to offer our services and add value… of course whilst having fun!
