Mark is director of the Selfords and Donford and has been with the motor group since 1982.
He has been interested in wine and its magic since university days and, having been born and bred in Stellenbosch, he was inspired to know and understand more of the intricacies and complexities of Cape wines.
Mark completed the Cape Wine Academy Diploma wine course in 2007. He started making wine as a garagiste in a barn on a farm on the outskirts of Stellenbosch in 2008 which continues to this day.
He admits to making many mistakes along his winemaking journey and each vintage has been a lesson in his quest to make a wine that is enjoyable and to be proud of. His CWM study journey began in 2018 and he is excited to graduate as Cape Wine Master number 108.
