Brad Gold qualified as South Africa’s youngest Cape Wine Master at the age of 25, started his career at L’Avenir Wine Estate as a vineyard worker in August 2001 and is very thankful to Marc Wiehe and Francois Naude for the opportunity to work on the farm where he was given the freedom to explore all the aspects of the business. Before joining Iona as General Manager in September 2018, Brad held corporate marketing positions and Distell and DGB.
Brad is dedicated to constantly developing his skills and experience including winemaking in Burgundy (thanks to Clive Torr and Mark Norish), a MBA at UCT’s Graduate School of Business, vast international travel and being panel chairman at various local wine competitions. Brad is married to Leandri Gold and his hobbies are surfing, kitesurfing, music, mountain biking and adventure motor biking.
