Chris is currently the Wine Ambassador for Distell, focusing mainly on fine wines and has been a lecturer on all courses offered by the Cape Wine Academy as well as on a broad hospitality industry sphere. Admitted as a Cape Wine Master in 2007, his research project was “Merlot in SA and internationally“. Chris was also a senior Judge for Diners Club’s Wine List of the Year Competition, for 6 years.
Co-ordinates and hosts wine tastings and gourmet evenings at fine dining restaurants and similar venues on behalf of restaurant owners and corporate clients. Facilitates special interest group visits to the respective estates, networking with brand managers and guest relations personnel.
He established contacts among wine-makers through regular visits and participation in trade shows. Registered Faculty Member of the American Hotel and Motel Association (AH & MA).
He has a National Diploma in Hotel Management from the Witwatersrand Technikon Hotel School, Johannesburg.
